Wounded Warrior Project

The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) is a nonprofit organization founded in 2003 in Roanoke, Virginia, and relocated to Jacksonville, Florida in 2006. Their mission is to help those who are hurt while fighting for our country. The purpose of the Wounded Warrior Project is to raise awareness and obtain public aid to help our veterans. The organization also seeks to provide special ways to create programs and services to help meet the direct need of individual service members.
The Wounded Warrior Project was founded because many people were touched by stories of those who were injured while serving in Afghanistan and Iraqi, so they decided to do something about it and help men and women in need. They started off simply by supplying items to comfort and help them and their basic needs, but it quickly grew into something much larger. Now, WWP assist the injured by helping them with their rehabilitation program and by easing them back into the life of a civilian. The Wounded Warrior Project helps tens of thousands people a year, and not just veterans! The organization helps their families and friends, too.
It’s easy to become involved with Wounded Warrior Project, and there are many things you can do to help. You can volunteer, donate, host a fundraiser, and much more. There are many products in stores that support WWP as well, and the profits help fund the organization. The organization has a website with much more information about what they do (and what you can do!). It shows some of the warriors they’ve helped, ways you can help them, and even the programs they offer to the soldiers. You can find out more online and get involved!
