Valentine’s Day Traditions
By Serra K.
In the world, Valentine’s Day is a time to celebrate love. This day only comes once a year so treasure it and spend time with the ones you love.
Japan – Instead of the man spoiling the woman, it is the woman spoiling the man. The woman gives their man namely chocolates.
South Korea – This tradition was inspired by the Japanese way of Valentine’s, the woman spoil their man with chocolate too.
Taiwan – This time, it is similar to the U.S. version of Valentine’s, the men give their wonderful women hearty chocolates!
Norway & Denmark – They did not start Valentine’s Day until very recently. They came up with a tradition quickly though. The women give their man a little love note or poem in honor of their love.
China – In China, the people have been celebrating Valentine’s Day for more than 2,000 years. They go to a temple on this special day asking for love.
France – The French think of themselves as the most romantic people on Earth. Instead of card and chocolate giving, they go to a fancy restaurant and more often than not, the man proposes to the love of his life.
These have been some of the most beautiful traditions I have ever seen because here in the U.S.A., we celebrate romance and our loved ones…our Valentine’s Day tradition is almost all of the above mixed into one!
