How to Take Care of Freshwater Fish
Here are the steps to have healthy, thriving fish. The first thing you will need to find out is: what kind of fish you want?
Before you can do anything else you must set water out for 12 hours and let it get to room temperature, or you can just dip the bag the fish are in into the water for about ten minutes if you are in a hurry. Now that you have your water chilling you can work on decorations.
First you will need to find decorations that fit your fish if they like to hide or have lots of space to swim. Find decorations to put in the tank. You can decorate it however you want. Before you put your fish in .make sure all your decorations are in place Then net your fish to put them in their new home.
Only feed your fish a couple flakes each day. You should get the type of food that is specifically for that type of fish.
Now your fish have been in their tank for about a week or so and you notice that the water is starting to get cloudy and gross. Now it is time to clean your tank. First take a coffee cup or net and catch your fish. (Note: your fish are very fast and can move around the cup or net to escape.) Once they are out of the tank you can pour the water out and rinse the rocks and the plants. The water you pour in should have set out all night so that its the same temperature as the water they were in previously, so that they don’t go into shock.
Once you have done all this your fish should live a long happy life!
