Is your tummy turning for some delicious sweets or special cider?
Here I have two delicious recipes to help you enjoy your fall festivities!
‘Tis the season for baked goods, and warm drinks that warm us up. This article has a special drink that is perfect for frozen fingers, and some yummy pie that will have you begging for more! Enjoy!
This first recipe is one that my family has done specially for Thanksgiving for six years. It’s a delicious cider that is sweet, tangy, and really warms you up if you’re cold.
Hot Cider Punch
You will need:
- 3 cups of apple juice
- 2 ½ cups of pineapple juice, unsweetened is best
- 2 cups of cranberry juice
- ¼ cup of brown sugar
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 2 teaspoons of whole cloves
- 2 teaspoons of ground allspice
What you need to do:
First, decide whether or not you want to cook it quickly in a pan, or let it slow cook in a slow cooker for 2 hours. When you have decided, either get your sauce pan or your slow cooker!
Instructions for stove:
- Stir in Apple, pineapple, and cranberry juice into the pan with brown sugar.
- Place the cinnamon sticks, cloves, and ground allspice into a large tea ball or cheesecloth bag. Place bag into pan with the juice mixture.
- Heat mix over medium- high heat for about ten minutes.
- Serve hot.
- Enjoy!
Instructions for slow cooker:
- Put everything in slow cooker and mix. *see below
- Simmer in slow cooker on low for 2-3 hours.
- Serve hot
- Enjoy!!!!
*You can put spices in spice bag, but it’s not necessary, as the spices float to the bottom of slow cooker anyway.
This second recipe is a delicious goodie that we almost all have around the house at Thanksgiving time.
Perfect Pumpkin Pie
You will need:
- 1 cup sugar
- Just a pinch of salt that fits in the tiny well when you cup your hand (the equivalent to about ¼ – ½ of a teaspoon.)
- ½ tsp of cinnamon

- ½ tsp ginger
- 1 ½ cup of pumpkin. *see below
- 1 ⅓ cup carnation milk
- ½ tsp allspice
- ½ tsp of cloves
- 9″ unbaked pie crust
- 2 eggs
*My family uses 100% Libby’s pure pumpkin; but you can use whatever pumpkin puree you want.
Instructions:
- Mix all of ingredients together in large bowl until smooth.
- Pour into crust and bake for 15 minutes at 450 o Fahrenheit, then reduce heat and bake at 45 minutes at 325o , or until knife comes out clean.
- Allow to cool, and then enjoy!
