Eight Amazing Video Games of 2015
Before I begin this article, I wish to inform all that may be reading that I am not stating that the following games are better than all others released in 2015. This is especially true because I have not seen game-play of or played all of the games released that year. However, I would personally like to share eight games I believe are worth purchasing.
8.) NBA 2k16
Released on September 29th, 2k16 dons new features and better graphics. One such feature is MyCourt, which allows the player to customize their very own basketball court. In another new feature, MyPark, mass amounts of players can meet in a stadium riddled with different courts. This allows players to verse against and team up with a variety of different individuals.
7.) Yoshi’s Woolly World
Released on October 16th, Yoshi’s Woolly World is an adorable, semi-strategic adventure that even adults can enjoy. Featuring everyone’s favorite dinosaur, this game can be combined with the use of Amiibos that will toss a Yoshi with a new pattern into the game.
6.) Rocket League
Released on July 7th, Rocket League puts a unique and extreme spin on the beloved sport of football (or known as soccer to Americans). Rather than playing as a team of tedious human beings, the players are responsible for controlling nitrous-fed automobiles, ramming into the soccer ball, their allies, and their opponents. This game of rocket-powered soccer has the perfect blend of intensity and amusing gameplay, so it entertains both die-hard, cutthroat gamers and those who wish only to pass good time with good friends.
5.) H1Z1: Just Survive
Released on January 15, H1Z1 is not your average zombie apocalypse stimulator. In this strategy and salvage-driven game, the player must fend off against brain-eaters and four-legged beasts of all kinds. However, it is neither the zombies nor the creatures that the players must keep an eye out for most. No, in both H1Z1 and in reality, the worst enemy of human kind is human kind. As the beasts before the player grow restless, the fight for supplies, safety, and survival rages on between whichever humans remain. It does not matter if the player chooses a cooperative approach (conquering the apocalypse together) or a solo approach (every man for himself), as long as they follow H1Z1’s only rule: Just Survive.
4.) Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege
Released on December 1st, Rainbow Six gives gamers a glance into the bone-chilling work real-life terrorist counter-strike operatives are responsible for completing. According to its description on Steam, “Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege invites players to master the art of destruction.”
3.) Five Night’s at Freddy’s 4
Released on July 23rd, Five Night’s at Freddy’s 4 is the (alleged) final chapter of the FNAF Saga. Bonnie, Chica, Freddy, and Foxy all make a vicious comeback, joined by a barrage of other bloodthirsty animatronics. In this section of the story, the players are told the tale of what occurred in the original pizzeria, FredBear’s Family Diner. In addition, they learn of what happened to the original child, the soul that started it all. The animatronics, donned with more nightmarish appearances (literally, they’re referenced as Nightmare Animatronics) return to some of their Five Night at Freddy’s 1 antics. Chica is again at the right door, Bonnie at the left, and Foxy is still out of order (still lonely, too).
2.) Destiny: The Taken King
Released on September 15th, The Taken King is an add-on to the original Destiny video game. Despite the outlandish price ($40 is a lot for a DLC), many players have succumbed to the Taken hype. This DLC adds new gear, a new storyline and destination, and new multiplayer opportunities that include more Strikes and the Kingsfall Raid.
1.) Undertale
Released on September 15th, Undertale sets the standards of a new RPG type in which no creature has to die. Adorned with beautiful storytelling, idiosyncratic characters, and some of the greatest in-game music I personally have heard, this RPG is difficult to forget. Then again, why would anyone want to?
