Dealing with Stress
By Hannah S.
Stress is something that affects a large majority of us. It can be caused by work, school, problems with friends or family, or anything else. It’s no fun to deal with, and can cause problems in your daily life. It can affect you, not only mentally, but physically too. Here are some tips to help you deal with stress.
Find something that interests you. Whether it is painting, reading, or writing, doing something you enjoy is a great way to relieve stress.
Take care of you. Your physical health is just as important as your emotional health and should be treated as so. Eat healthy foods, get lots of exercise and get a good amount of sleep. These will help you feel more rested and help improve your emotional state as well.
Engage. Talking to people can be a huge stress reliever. You don’t even have to talk about your stress. You can go out for coffee, go on a jog with a friend, watch a group movie, or anything to get you around people who care about you.
Relax. Take some time out of your day to sit down and just relax. Take your mind off the stressful thing, and just rest.
No matter what it is you do to relieve stress, make sure it isn’t something that can later become stressful for you. For example, if drawing is stressful, because you feel the need to meet a certain standard, try doing something else to relieve stress. If you have trouble reading, it may not be the best choice as the struggle can increase your stress levels. Stress is no fun, but if you follow the above steps, you can beat it.
