Brazilian Chocolate Truffles
Truffles seem like a lot of work to many, from gathering the ingredients to following the recipe. However, truffles don’t have to be a difficult maneuver but rather an easy and delicious delicacy that one can enjoy by themselves or with a group of friends. Brazilian chocolate truffles, known in Brazil as Brigadeiros, are a very popular delicacy and a national dessert of Brazil that will win hearts from all over the world.
Ingredients:
• 1 can of sweet condensed milk
• 1 cup of chocolate sprinkles
• 3 Tbsp cocoa power (add more for your liking)
• 1 stick of Earth Balance Vegan Buttery Sticks
• 1 pinch of salt
Directions:
First, lay out two plates. On one plate, measure the sprinkles, and on the other plate, unwrap the buttery stick and use your hands to grease the butter on the plate. After greasing the butter on your plate, put the butter away for later. In a medium sized pot, use medium-low heat, add sweet condensed milk, cocoa powder, the butter and a pinch of salt.
As the mixture begins to warm, stir constantly until the mixture thickens. A good way to see if the mixture thickens is to run a wooden spoon through it to see if tracks of chocolate sit at the bottom. Afterwards, scrape the mixture into a bowl to transfer onto the greased plate. Let the mixture cool for 4-5 minutes before continuing to the next step.
After letting the mixture cool, use a bit of butter on your hands. Next, when rolling the mixture, scoop the mixture into a tablespoon and then put it into your hands and begin rolling the mixture into the shape of a ball. The final step is to roll it into sprinkles and put it in a baking cup.
