Well in this month’s edition of Actors and Actresses Unknown, I am going to discuss the biography of a once popular, funny, and talented actor. This actor played a huge role in children’s educational programming and appeared in many movies and audio books. This month I am going to discuss Skip Hinnant.
Skip Hinnant is an American actor, comedian, voice actor, and singer. He was born in the state of Virginia on Chincoteague Island and his birthday is September 12, 1940. He is single and was never married, but he has four children. He has a brother who also has a television and film career. At age 78, Skip Hinnant is currently still alive.
In voice acting and television, Skip Hinnant was most famous for his role of the Fargo North Decoder in the hit 1970s children’s program, The Electric Company. Not only did he play the main character in The Electric Company, but he also played many smaller roles in the show as well. Skip Hinnant also played the lead role in two of Ralph Bakshi’s cartoon films, and a Rankin Bass stop motion Easter film. He would later voice various characters in the 1980s My Little Pony television series. As far as television sitcoms, he was best known for his role of Ted in the 1960s television series, The Patty Duke Show. Skip Hinnant eventually retired in 1990, but made a television appearance in 2006 for a reunion of the The Electric Company.
After 1990, Skip Hinnant voice recorded for children’s audiobooks. Today, Skip Hinnant’s retirement life is unknown. Skip Hinnant may be unknown today, but he inspired many children on PBS when his career was at its prime in the 1970s. He also influenced children by demonstrating that fixing grammar and sentences is like solving a puzzle. Most importantly, he was a joy for children of all ages.
